There was a man, living in a place called Earth,
The only home he knew since his birth.
He grew up in a loving family, cared for by mom and dad,
They taught him good manners; he was rarely ever sad.
Ambitious and strong he grew, destined for a great life,
Little he knew of the bumpy road ahead: tragedy, sorrow, and strife.
Young and proud, he tried to change the world,
He forgot life is not a book, to be followed word by word.
On an autumn evening, he fell in love, thinking he’s found his life-long wife,
Loving days ended after a while, and then they clashed like fork and knife.
Their arguments grew loud, the children cried out in the round. In a house, where laughter once lived, peace could no longer be found.
In business, he was too naive, he trusted a vicious conman,
He took all his money, framed him for a crime, and then ran.
His trust, once his strength, now his greatest regret,
A lesson in life, he could never forget.
Heartbroken and bankrupt, he went to prison, begging for support,
His loving parents were there no more, their lives had been cut short.
He missed the chance to say goodbye, to share one last embrace,
A void in his heart, time could never replace.
He sat alone in his cell, wondering where it all went wrong,
He lit a cigarette, shed a tear, realizing in this world he didn’t belong.
The Earth was no longer his home, it was time to go,
His life flashed before his eyes, his final hours on death row.
Yet in his heart, a glimmer of hope did grow,
Believing in a better world, though he’d never know.
